Here is a list of items you have to pick the most useful.
Situation:
You are driving in a camper and it runs of gas you have to leave and hike 25 miles to civilization and your cellphone does not work. what do you bring?

Disposable Camera ( whole roll )
Family Cat
Cat Food 5 pound bag
Pocket Knife
Instant Breakfast 3 packages
Sleeping Bag 1
Tent 16 pounds
stove 13 pounds
Cigars ( 5 of them)
Flashlight full bateries
Walkie Talkie ( two of them )
Soap 2 bar
Tooth Brush
A coat for everyone
3 Pokemon towels
shot gun amo 40 rounds 45 pounds

okay what do you think is the right 8 items to bring are?

Pocket Knife, Sleeping Bag, Tent, A coat, shotgun, 3 Instant Breakfasts, Family Cat, and Disposable Camera.
Ok, so you need the cat as a food source, >_> so like use the Pocket Knife to cut it open and eat it. (Of course you're gonna need a fire, so like... get some firewood >_>) Then the camera... Use it for fending off Stalkers, and taking pictures of yourself when you're board. XD And for after you kill the cat, >_> you gotta take a picture of your kill. XD

Forget that crap, I'd rather go 13 miles in comfort then 25 in agony. XD

Disposable camera: This would be useless. Ruled out.
Family Cat: I wouldn't bring it. I'd be too worried about myself. Besides, it'll just attract predators more.
Cat Food (5 pound bag): What good is this without a cat to feed it to? Besides; it'd just weigh you down.
Pocket Knife: This would be useful to defend yourself with, and you'd have to cut your prey open to get the edibles/bones out.
Instant Breakfast (3 packages): What good are these without water and a microwave? None.
Sleeping Bag (1): I'd bring it only for comfort, you wouldn't need it to sleep.
Tent (16 pounds): I wouldn't bring this; it'd weigh me down alot more, and I'd be way too tired to set it up.
Stove (13 pounds): No gas, no matches, no coal; useless.
Cigars (5 of them): I'm a non-smoker, and it would just make it harder to breathe.
Flashlight (full bateries): Yes, i'd bring this because it'd be easier to avoid snakes and such.
Walkie Talkie (two of them): Useless if the entire family stays together.
Soap (2 bar): I would bring it just incase we found a pond or something. There's not much reason to not think about your hygiene, too.
Tooth Brush: No. There would be no toothpaste to use with them, and brushing alone doesn't help much.
A coat for everyone: Yes. If it was cold outside (like it is now), I would bring them.
3 Pokemon towels: Yeah, I would bring them just incase someone got wet and it was cold out.
shot gun amo 40 rounds 45 pounds: No. Way too heavy to lug around for 25 miles.
shot gun: What good is it without ammo?
Mini TV: No. I would be more focused on survival than entertainment.
I would bring: Pocket knife, flashlight, soap, coats, and towels.
But the one thing that would be smartest to bring: MORE GAS.

Jeeze, you act as though you're traveling behind enemy lines or something... <_< 25 miles would take about a day... So really you just want food, water, a flashlight (If you broke down in the middle of the day...) and something to keep warm, if necessary.
