Late Night Consoling [22:30 PM]

Happy <insert holiday here>! Because of the holidays, this week will only see a few LNCs, if that. Tonight's post is as large as I could make it, and the next one could appear on Thursday, but only if there's enough news for one (or I can come up with a suitable LNC EX editorial). Ditto for Friday. Hopefully I'll have at least a few stories to throw together for a post, but regardless, I hope everyone has a great week.
Third Party Network Adapters?
While hunting around for yesterday's ShackReviews update, I stumbled across this curious item for sale at GameStop. Apparently third party PS2 network adapters are possible (who knew?). The blurb claims it's fully compatible with games that are out now and "future titles like Final Fantasy XI" although it doesn't mention if it has Sony's HDD port on it, so that's debatable. Still, I'm intrigued by the concept, and any cheaper alternative is good for consumers (even if only marginally, as this one's almost the same price as Sony's network adapter -- and that includes a modem).
Big FFX-2 Updates
As promised, Square is showing Final Fantasy X-2 at the Jump Festival in Japan, and so lots of new info from the game has hit the web. PS2.IGN has their hands-on impressions up, along with gameplay movies, while Games Are Fun has posted the tons of new screenshots that were posted to the game's Japanese website.
FF Tactics, Seiken Densetsu Updates
Along with Final Fantasy X-2, Square also updated their official Final Fantasy Tactics Advance site, and those screenshots, along with some new information can also be found at Games Are Fun tonight, along with new information on the upcoming Seiken Densetsu game, which is basically an enhanced version of the original title, which was released in this country as Final Fantasy Adventure for the original Game Boy.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Stuff
And finally, in tonight's last Square-related story (I promise!) Cube.IGN has new details from Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, as well as plenty of new footage from the GameCube debut of the series.
Dancing Zeldas?
Maybe I should get a "crazy Japanese stuff" icon...also at Cube.IGN is footage of Nintendo's "Dancing Zeldas" presentation from the Jump Festival.
Xenosaga Name, Release Date
This has basically been mentioned elsewhere already, but it deserves its own story (just 'cuz I said so)...Namco has confirmed that the North American release of Xenosaga will retain the "Episode 1: Der Wille Zur Macht" subtitle from the original, and will come out on February 25th.
Console Game of the Evening: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for the PSOne. Considered by many to be the best game in the series (or at least #2), and by others to be one of the best games ever made.
